Support the Fight for Decent Work

The Workers’ Action Network of Newfoundland and Labrador (WAN) provides essential support for workers in low-wage, unstable jobs who are regularly subjected to wage theft, unsafe tasks and/or work environments, harassment, discrimination, and other violations of their basic rights.

Since February 2022, WAN has operated Newfoundland and Labrador’s only telephone Worker Hotline, through which workers can safely and confidentially ask questions about their Labour, OHS & Human rights, and learn how to address violations of their rights at work.

Our staff also conducts a formal intake process, which workers can use to request to meet virtually to discuss their workplace issues one-on-one, or with coworkers.

Due to unprecedented funding challenges,
we need your financial support.

Why donate?

For too long, governments have stood by while bad bosses break the law- profiting off of the backs of vulnerable workers while denying us dignity, fair pay, and respect in the workplace.

This is why WAN works tirelessly to reach workers across Newfoundland and Labrador, in all industries and of all backgrounds. WAN exists to provide information, support, and opportunities for workers to come together in-person and virtually to learn our rights and organize for better working conditions in our workplaces, in our industries, across the province, and beyond.

Even though low-wage, precarious workers are up against shocking economic inequality, poverty-level wages and rampant violations of our rights, workers are finding the grounds to fight for Decent Work for all through WAN, and we’re just getting started.

Income inequality, poverty, and exploitation have never been higher.

The time to support low-wage, precarious workers is now.

If you support the fight for #DecentWork, please donate to allow WAN to continue to reach, educate and organize 60,000+ workers in Newfoundland and Labrador who are fighting for fairness, dignity, and respect on the job.

Is your organization or union interested in supporting the
Workers’ Action Network?

Employing dedicated staff is essential as we build a robust support network for Newfoundland and Labrador’s low-wage, precarious workforce.

By becoming a monthly, quarterly, or yearly donor, your organization will enable us to keep staff on payroll to support non-union workforce members in learning their rights and getting organized.

If your organization supports our work, please get in touch to learn more about becoming a donor.
